Preston X3 Seatbox Review
« on: May 25, 2009, 17:57:31 »
Hi

I recently bought the X3 box and here is my review

Good Stuff

You can have more accessories than a barbie doll
Sturdy
Nice looking
The footplate is integral and quick to pull out
You can add extra sections to the box

Bad Stuff

It is heavy to lug about
You cant have the footplate all the way in if using the trolley
The attachments you put on the legs get in the way when sliding out the trays.
I think I would have liked to have one section where the draws opened to the front.
Slightly overpriced
The add ons are expensive for what they are

Would I buy it again ??? Probably not

What would I buy instead ??? Not got a clue -- What would you recommend ?

One day I'll know what i'm talking about.

Well after years of carting milo and colmic seatboxes up and down river/canal banks,i decided to buy the fox euro msb, light and very sturdy, this is a modular box,so extra trays, can be bought, plus the fact it takes all of the rive attachments i bought for my colmic box, both both the colmic and the fox msb have 25mm legs,

Love my box but as Kev rightly says it is a tad high, could be lowered by removing the very top unit but then you loose the two sliding trays which are housed in it. Comes with a removable wheel kit and sliding platform. Look on ebay for some good deals, I did.

Regards
Rob.

to be honest mate

ive had a Preston x6 seat box and never had a problem with it till this year when it started to fall apart in the odd area , nothing to serious
it had been hammered out every single week for 3 years .
id have had another , just fancied a change

as for the new modular ones the diawa one was the best one i found that i liked and suited my needs ,

go to a big store that stocks them try them out and then shop around for the best deal
iam sure if they want your biz they will match or better other prices ?

i got mine from fosters of Birmingham , the Internet is a wonderful thing !! ;D
